Guys… we’re almost at the end of the year now. And thinking about it can be exciting and scary at the same time. Exciting because it means we can start afresh real soon. And scary because perhaps… we know we haven’t been our best self so far.
And right now… is the best timing to reflect and evaluate!
It doesn’t matter what society/ your family/ your spouse/ your children/ your co-worker might say about you. Or expect from you. You gotta be real honest with yourself on what 2016 means to you.
Here, I prepare ten questions for you to reflect on before 2016 ends. Put judgement asides, even judgement from yourself… to yourself. I suggest that you allow yourself a quiet, relaxing, comforting time and space so you can dig deep in a supportive and engaging environment.
You can even do sort of a ritual: put on some aromatherapy, light up a candle, play soft music in the background, get your journal and your favourite pen on, sit back, relax, breathe, set your intention, say a little prayer, allow Universe to guide you, and let it go from here.
When you answer these questions, I also suggest that you take into account not only one or two aspects from your life, but also more. I’d like to mention Vishen Lakhiani’s Extraordinary by Design concept. He designs his life into these categories and I am all in because it’s fun: Love, Friendship, Adventure, Environment, Health & Fitness , Intellectual Life, Skills, Spiritual Life, Career, Creative Life, Family Life, and Community Life.
So, here are the ten questions.
1. What do you like best about 2016?
If you can only have three words for this year, what would it be? What are the highlights of your 2016?
2. What went well?
What achievement, huge or small, that you have and can celebrate in 2016?
3. What have you let go in 2016?
What are the things/ persons/ habits/ mindset/ false beliefs/ etc. you have or you will release this year?
4. What could you have done better?
You have next year to becoming the greater you. What improvements you are going to make in 2017?
5. What are the lesson learned?
What lessons, huge and small, have you learned for the past year?
6. What do you want to learn next year?
What are the new or not so new things/ skills/ traits/ habits/ etc. that you want to pursue and master in 2017?
7. What are you going to release in 2017?
What doesn’t serve you any longer for you to create the 2017 you desire?
8. What are you going to manifest?
It’s the best timing to look into the different aspects/ designs of your life and go one by one to see what you are going to manifest for next year.
9. What resources will you need to manifest them?
Shortly, what are your plans? Get into details on what you can do per semester, per quarter, bi-monthly, monthly, per week, per day, or even per hour.
10. What does your true nature or the Higher Self say?
What does your Higher Self say about your 2016 and your 2017? It’s time to get into your intuitive writing mode and just write your heart out without analyzing or criticizing yourself.
Congratulations! When you’ve answered these questions up till the number 10, I’m sure now you have a clearer idea on how awesome 2016 has been for you and how awesome 2017 is going to be for you.
Remember, it’s not about boasting over your success or crying over your failures. We can’t just see the world or ourselves as plain good or bad. Because one simply cannot exist without the other.
So, however 2016 turns out for you, I want you to forgive yourself, say thank you for yourself, accept yourself, and celebrate yourself.
Life will only be a reflection of who you are inside. Whenever you love yourself enough, life will bloom full of love right into you. Your life will glow; you will glow.
So, thank you for being here all along throughout my 2016. Pass on this article to the people you love. And I pray so that you are grateful and content on how 2016 has been treating you. And I hope you have all the capacity and resources to plan for the great journey for next year.
